How We Started

Lydia's Closet began from Alexis' love of fashion and a simple desire to share some of her own clothes with friends and other ladies in her ministry. From those small beginnings in the back of a ladies Sunday small group, the Lord birthed a larger idea. It was to provide gently used clothing for a small donation to fund the Kingdom work and help meet the needs of the women's ministry at that time. It also provided an opportunity for women to engage in that same effort while at the same time, finding a place to donate their still nice items to benefit and bless others.

Many women have appreciated the Lydia's pop up shopping times over the years, but God breathed a dream into Alexis' heart to open a permanent location. What started as a single rack of clothes, has now grown into a department store size shopping ministry that will affect not only the local community, but the surrounding areas for all who come to enjoy Lydia's Closet.
